The Orbital Fasteners Stadium awaits as Kings Langley face Enfield FC in the first home league match of the 2024/25 campaign.
Having prepared throughout pre season with numerous challenges in Watford U23s, Oxford City, Rayners Lane, Tring Athletic and National League side Wealdstone, this has given the coaching staff an idea of who the starting eleven would be, as well as keeping the fitness of the players at a high level, as this will prove vital in a highly competitive league.
The Kings will also welcome a new addition to the coaching staff, Jimmy Gray, who will provide experience and extra support to both head coach Jordan Parkes and his assistant Mark Boyce. Having had experience higher up the non-league pyramid at clubs including St Albans, Wealdstone and Hendon, Jimmy will provide a wealth of knowledge and expertise which will only benefit the Kings as they look to push towards a playoff position.
Enfield FC come into the Southern League Central Division having previously competed in another Step 4 division, the Isthmian League North. Having finished 18th last season and moving across to the Southern League Central, they will look to improve and finish in a higher league position, making a statement to the rest of the division. Having retained a large core of their squad from last season, they have also added to their squad with many new signings including Joni Vukaj and Farai Tsingano. Having finished just one place above relegated Stowmarket Town last season with a -53 goal difference, they will look to tighten up their defence ahead of this season, and having won 2 away games over the whole of last season, that statistic will be one which Enfield will definitely look to improve upon.
Home form is definitely going to prove important in such a strong campaign and with Kings winning just 8 of their 18 home match last season was one of many reasons as to why they did not finish higher up the table. This upcoming game against Enfield will give Kings Langley the opportunity to create a fortress, being clinical when in attack and organised in defence. Both teams will be prepared for the challenge ahead as Kings will look to defend their home turf with a victory.
